Poster Analysis:

- Key image is the villain with his face covered by a large hat. This allows us to see just enough of his body but not his total face so we are still intrigued.
We are shown a burnt man and just one knife on his hand sticking out again allowing us to still be intrigued. The knife also has a glimmer of light shining off it to give us the impression that it is sharp, Also so that some people can recognise him from the previous films.

- The title is below him in red which is a well down symbolization of blood and danger. The colour also matches the colour of the jumper on the villain allowing us to see the connection between them. He is dangerous. The words “Nightmare” and “
Elm Street
” are bigger then the other words allowing us to see them first and get a sense of this film, where the horror will come from and where it is set.

-The tagline is “Welcome to your new nightmare” this communicates the idea that this is a nightmare no one has ever experienced before and that perhaps you cannot escape it.

-The credit block is again at the bottom of the poster as well as the Studio and distributors logos.

-The release date is at the very bottom again in red and bold font to enhance this idea of danger and to also grab the reader’s attention.
