Jaws Trailer 1975 and poster review

-The Key Image is a lady swimming naked with a huge shark coming from directly underneath her. The idea that this woman is naked enhances her vulnerability as she is not covered so she is very much exposed and the fact that she is a woman gives us the idea that she cannot protect herself and is in serious danger.
The size of the shark compared to her is huge and has been perhaps exaggerated to allow us to see that this creature is too big to fight off and this woman is totally helpless.
Also the "J" in the title is slightly hook shaped at the end relating to the plot of the film with them going out to catch this shark on a fishing boat.

-The title is at the top of the poster is capital bold letters which are also in red. This automatically allows us to connect the ideas of danger, and blood to this film.

-There isn’t a tagline for this film but there is a quote from someone which allows us to see that people recommend this film and the use of the word “terrifying” gives us the impression that in the time this film was made it was new and really scared people.

-The Actors names are listed under the key image in bold white font so they can be noticed.
- The credit block, Studio and distributors logos are again positioned at the bottom of the poster with the website.
